Un symbole est une abstraction d'une chose, un système, un concept, une idée ou une croyance.
A symbol is an abstraction of a thing, a system, a concept, an idea or a belief.
Icônes informatiques, des modèles mentaux, des métaphores, des analogies et des Symboles, Tous, simplifier le tâche de traiter la chose qu'ils abstrait.
Computer icons, mental models, metaphors, analogies and SYMBOLs all simplify the task of handling the thing they abstract.
Symbol est une petite figure, un tableau simple quand absolue. Quand elle est abstraite, il peut simplifier ou déléguer un comportement, un concept, une idee. Une tête de se tailler, qui symbolise la croyance d'une femme par exemple.

Avion d'El Al fret perd son moteur, mais le capitaine pense d'autre parce que le symbole du moteur montre sur OK dans le terrible accident à Amsterdam dans le passé.
El Al cargo plane loses its motor but the captain thinks else because the motor symbol shows OK in the terrible accident at Amsterdam in the past.
2. Le symbole simplifie ou fait paraître les choses plus simples qu'elles ne le sont.
2. The symbol oversimplifies or makes things look more simple then they are.
Des règles simples qui peuvent aider à indiquer si vous appartenez à telle ou telle religion peut aider les gens à se conformer facilement mais la qualité moyenne des chutes. En conséquence de cette base des faits humains qui font les religions sont oubliés par certains.
Simple rules that may help to indicate whether you belong to this or that religion may help people to conform easily but the average quality falls and the basic human facts that make religions are forgotten by some.
Les systèmes devraient être difficiles à utiliser, assez difficile à accomplir des opérateurs qui sont matures et qui ont l'aptitude à penser en profondeur lorsque la flexibilité est nécessaire.
Systems should be difficult to use, difficult enough to bring forth the operators who are mature and who have the aptitude to think in depth when flexibility is needed.
3. Des symboles augmen la complexité de conception .
3. Symbols increase design complexity.
Chaque absraction fait dans la conception ajoute sur la mise en œuvre et de maintenance. Ce n'est pas une vertu à tout ce que veulent ceci ou cela vous imaginer à la phase exigences. Complexité accrue signifie une difficulté accrue par conséquent un risque accru. Il est à la peine.
Every absraction done in the design adds on the implementation and maintenance work. It is not a virtue to want this or that everything you imagine at the requirements phase. Increased complexity means increased difficulty hence increased risk. It has to be worth.
4. Symboles de réduire la flexibilité tant du point de facilité d'utilisation et la créativité du design.
4. Symbols reduce flexibility both from the point of useability and design creativity.
Introduction de l'incertitude au début d'un grand système offre amplement d'espace pour l'introduction ultérieure de nouveaux éléments ou la redéfinition d'entre eux, peut-il être une croyance religieuse système ou un moderne fly-by-wire avion.
Introduction of uncertainity at the beginning of a large system provides ample space for later introduction of new elements or redefinition of them, may it be a religious belief system or a modern fly-by-wire aircraft.

Rüstem Paşa Camii'nin Düşündürdükleri
Aslında bu yalnızca Rüstem Paşa'dan gelen bir mesaj sayılamaz. Çünkü
Rüstem Paşa Camii'ni Mimar Sinan olgunluk zamanında yapmış. Tabii bazı
şeylerin özellkle istendiği hemen anlaşılabilyor Sinan'dan...
Bahsettiğim camii Kanuni Sutan Süleyman'ın Sadrazamı Rüstem Paşa
tarafından Süleymaniye Camiinin önüne yaptırılmış, tek minareli, uzaktan bakınca
küçük bir şey ve sahilde Tahtakalenin göbeğinde... Sanki Süleymaniye'nin
ulviliğine karşın onun ayakları yerde, hayatın içinde...
İtina ile hesaplanmış bir alçak gönüllülük var. Süleymaniye'nin görüntüsünü
yüceliğini destekleyen... Tıpkı sadrazam padişah ilişkisinde ki... Tahtakalede
dolaşırken, sıkışık yoğun trafikten bir kapı açılıyor, sonra çok güzel bir labirentin
sarmallarından yukarı çıkıp kendinizi huzur dolu bir ortamda buluyorsunuz.
Rüstem Paşa'nın bana da mesajı şu oldu: Osmanlının en zengin Çinilerini yaptırmış.
Ama o parayı dışardan görülecek bir gösterişe harcamamış... Bu kadar küçük bir
mekanda ne kadar geniş bir hacim duygusu yaratılmış, düşündürücü... Human Computer
Interface Design açısından da... Aslında camilerde hacim duygusunun yönetimi
insan yaratan ilişkisinin tasarlanmasında önemli bir unsur belki esas bir unsur
değil mi? Gülen'in Papa'ya boş bir kase hediye etmesi ne kadar anlamlı bir davranıştı.
İçindeki boşluğu kapsayan bir varlık, kase...
Fırsat olduğunda size Kılıç Ali Paşa'nın camisinden de bahsetmek isterim, bi zaman...
Kurtuluş savaşından ve Osmanlının son döneminde dönen yaralı askerlerin sığındığı
camii... Bir soluk alıp dinlendiğim, biraz Kuran biraz İncil okuduğum, huzur dolu
mekan...

Persistence and perseverence
I am amazed how much many succesful enterprises in the West including top 10 universities in US stress the importance of 'persistence and perseverence'. But I got even more amazed when I read the below section of the Bible...
5Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,

13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
13 Si donc vous, tout méchants que vous êtes, vous savez donner à vos enfants de bonnes choses, combien plus le Père du ciel donnera-t-il l'Esprit-Saint à ceux qui lui demandent. "

5Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,

6 because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.'

7 "Then the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.'
7 et que celui-là réponde de l'intérieur: " Ne m'importune point: déjà la porte est fermée et mes enfants sont avec moi au lit; je ne puis me lever pour te donner, "
8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness[e] he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
8 je vous le dis, quand même il ne se lèverait pas pour lui donner parce qu'il est son ami, du moins à cause de son importunité, il se lèvera pour lui donner tout ce dont il a besoin.
9 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
9 Et moi je vous dis: Demandez et l'on vous donnera; cherchez et vous trouverez; frappez et l'on vous ouvrira.
10 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
10 Car quiconque demande reçoit; qui cherche trouve, et l'on ouvrira à qui frappe.
11 "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for[f] a fish, will give him a snake instead?
11 Y a-t-il parmi vous un père qui, si son fils lui demande du pain, lui donnera une pierre? Ou, (s'il demande) un poisson, lui donnera-t-il, au lieu de poisson, un serpent?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
